UPDATE: Union Announces Public Transport Workers Will Add Two More 24-Hour Strikes Next Week

In additional to the 24-hour strike that the public transportation workers for the ISAP railway and tram announced for this Thursday, the union has now added two 24-hour strikes next week.
The announcement came from a union representing the fixed-track transport company STASY and said that along with Thursday’s anticipated walk-off, the workers will also be protesting the government’s plans to allow the commercial use of the company’s facilities in 2 more planned walk-offs on Wednesday, March 1, and Friday, March 3.
According to the union’s statements made to ANA-MPA on Tuesday, the new law allowing the commercial use of the private facilities is like a “Trojan horse” and will open the doors for the privatization of STASY.
The first walk-off is scheduled for Thursday, February 23 and will last 24 hours.
