Greek PM Tsipras: Tourism on a Constant Rise

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that the tourism industry is constantly on the rise, during a meeting with Hellenic Tourism Confederation President Andreas Andreadis on Monday.
Regarding tourist arrivals, 2016 was a record year as tourist arrivals rose to 27.5 million, up by 1.5 million compared to the previous year. It has also been estimated that 2017 will be another record year, based on a rise in bookings so far.
Tsipras stressed that tourism has won the bet as it resisted the crisis and boosted the Greek economy.
On his part, Andreadis estimated that tourism revenues may range between 19-20 billion euros with tourists increasing to 30 million. However, he asked for a solution to certain problems in order to meet the targets and open new jobs.
The prime minister expressed his belief that 30 million tourists is a realistic target.
