Greece's Interior Min Skourletis Says Program Review to Conclude Soon

The program review will soon be concluded, Interior Minister Panos Skourletis said on Monday in an interview with ANT1 TV, adding that the government is trying to solve the pending issues that cause insecurity with the best possible conditions for the Greek citizens.
The minister explained that the delays on the program review are a result of the elections in Europe and the IMF and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble’s stance. Skourletis stressed that the government must examine the overall package of measures that will also include the offset measures in order to evaluate the agreement.
He accused the Bank of Greece governor Yannis Stournaras of supporting the IMF and Schaeuble’s positions with his statements, as he said that Stournaras is behaving as a political person and not as a central banker adding that his stance is provocative and undermining.
Speaking about issues regarding the country’s privatizations Skourletis accused the creditors of not delivering on their promises as far as it regards Public Power Corporation (PPC). “We are trying to reduce the negative impact of a one-sided agreement,” he said referring to PPC, defending his positions which are against the depreciation of the company.
Regarding the possibility of elections, Skourletis said: “I don’t think there is possibility of elections.”
