Zakynthos Port Authority consider the possibility that the 23-year-old man who fell off the cliff over the Navagio (Shipwreck) site on Friday might have committed suicide.
The incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the island’s most famous tourist site. People had seen the young man with a sack approaching the site. After the incident, port authority officials found his sack and a mobile phone with a selfie and believed that the man was taking a selfie and accidentally fell to his death.
However, after further investigation, on Saturday Zakynthos authorities started considering the possibility that the man jumped off the cliff.
The 23-year-old was a student of cultural heritage preservation at the Ionian Islands Technical College.
