Golden Dawn Kicked Out of New Bill Discussion in Greek Parliament

Golden Dawn on Wednesday was suspended in absentia from the two plenary sessions to discuss the new omnibus bill that includes several austerity measures.
The Conference of House Speakers decided unanimously that the ultra-rightist party lawmakers should not participate in the discussion but they can vote on the bill. The decision was based on the aggressive behavior shown by MP Ilias Kassidiaris towards New Democracy lawmaker Nikos Dendias. The remaining GD lawmakers also shouted abuse against Dendias and one of them threw a bottle of water at him.

With the unanimous decision and applause from all wings of the House, Golden Dawn is excluded for the discussion of the new bill.
Golden Dawn lawmakers, however, are entitled to vote in the roll-call vote to be held on Thursday evening. At the same time, the issue of disciplinary sanctions is pending on Ilias Kassidiaris, who has been referred to the Ethics Committee of the House.
The vote, which took place among the parliamentary representatives of all parties, was also attended by To Potami President Stavros Theodorakis, who was in the House.
