Around 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon a tourist from Cuba lost her life when she fell from the cliffs surrounding Navagio Beach while trying to take a selfie with the shipwreck below on the Greek island of Zakynthos.
The 22-years-old woman was on vacation with her American boyfriend who says that she tried to stand as close as possible to the edge to get the perfect selfie before loosing her balance and falling over the cliff to her death. He reportedly heard her shout something like “ouch” before falling.
The police and coast guard recovered the women’s body below and according to media reports the incident is being considered an accident by the authorities.
Just two months ago, a 23-year-old Greek student lost his life when he fell over the cliffs at the same location while trying to take a selfie.
