Conference on Cyprus to Reconvene on June 28 in Geneva

The Conference on Cyprus will reconvene in Geneva on June 28 at the political level, under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the UNSG`s spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.
“In line with the statement issued following the meeting of the Secretary-General with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mr. Mustafa Akinci, and the Greek Cypriot leader, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, will be in New York on 4 June, and following consultations with all participants, the Conference on Cyprus will reconvene in Geneva on June 28, 2017,” a brief announcement said.
According to the statement issued in New York, the Conference will take place with the participation of Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, as well as Greece, Turkey and the United Kingdom as guarantor powers, and in the presence of the European Union as an observer.
