British Airways Plane Hit by Lightning Over Greek Island; Lands in Athens

A British Airways airplane was hit by lightning over the island of Skiathos on Monday, shocking the 45 passengers on board.
The passengers of flight ZA 2225 from London to Skiathos were scared when lightning hit the aircraft just minutes before it started landing procedures over the island.
According to a Tahridromos Volou newspaper report, the pilot followed protocol for such incidents and informed Skiathos that he will not land and that he will land in Athens.
At 1 am on Tuesday, the British Airways passenger plane landed at the Athens International Airport, with passengers applauding the pilot for his coolness and efficiency, the report says.
