The Bar in Kos That Turned Death-Trap for 2 Tourists

Two tourists were killed from the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Kos in the early hours of Friday.
A 39-year-old Turk and a 27-year-old Swede were standing outside the White Corner bar on Nafklirou Street in Kos, when the quake struck.
According to reports, they were standing directly underneath a wall that collapsed onto the pavement. They died from falling debris.
Other people standing outside the two-storey bar were injured.
White Corner bar is an old building, and is a favorite drinking place for tourists.
Greek officials say that people should be careful when approaching old buildings in Kos. There is a danger that they could collapse in possible aftershocks.
However, they stress that there is no danger for new buildings as they are built to withstand mush stronger quakes.
