Tsipras Calls on Ministers to Implement Reforms

Addressing a meeting of the cabinet on Monday, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras urged ministers to get on with the reforms that were demanded by creditors, so the country can exit its bailout program in 10 months.
In televised remarks, the Greek Prime Ministers said that the country was on course to outperform budget targets set by creditors, for the second year running.
He said that Greece’s surplus, before debt servicing costs, has been taken into account, and will be higher than the 1.75 percent of annual GDP demanded.
He noted that exiting the bailout program was not just a calendar milestone, but a process of transition from a state of economic crisis to dynamic growth, a reorganisation of production, job recovery and the foundation for a strong welfare state.
He stressed that the steps taken in this direction are significant, and that the country has returned to positive growth rates.
Referring to the economy and investments, Tsipras stressed that “we are working to make the most of this positive momentum for the Greek economy.”
