Monument for the Three Greek Navy Officers Killed in the Aegean Unveiled (video)


A monument for the three Greek Navy officers who were killed when their helicopter crashed on an islet in the Aegean in February 2016, was unveiled on Tuesday by Defence Minister, Panos Kammenos.
The Agusta Bell helicopter crashed at Kinaros islet, near the island of Amorgos, as it was taking part in a night military exercise.
The three officers killed Konstantinos Pananas, Anastasios Toulitsis and Eleftherios Euaggelou, died during peace but in war-like conditions, said Kammenos.

The Defence Minister said the officers were heroes that have fallen in their duty to protect Greece.
