Livaja’s Late Strike Saves AEK from the Jaws of Defeat (video)


Croatian striker Marco Livaja scored a last minute goal to earn a point for AEK at its home game with Austria Vienna on Thursday (2-2) for the UEFA Europa League.
AEK took the lead against the well-organized Austrians, 28 minutes into the game as Livaja scored his maiden goal with AEK.
The injury and substitution of AEK defender Uros Cosic midway through the first half disorganized the home team.
Defensive errors gave Austria the opportunity to score twice. Monschein equalized two minutes from half-time and at the start of the second half, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi gave Austria the lead.
A magnificent display by Austria keeper Patrick Pentz kept the visitors in front till the last minute when Livaja scored.
Up next AEK travels to Italy to face group leader AC Milan, on October 19.
