Coca Cola HBC Announces Death of CEO Dimitris Lois

Coca‑Cola HBC has announced the death of its CEO, Dimitris Lois, on 2 October 2017 just weeks after announcing that he was taking a leave of absence for treatment for a medical condition.
In a statement today, Anastassis David, the FTSE 100-listed soft drinks bottler’s chairman, said, “We are deeply saddened by the news of Dimitris’s death.”
He added: “It was a great privilege to know him personally and to work alongside him for so many years. Dimitris will always be remembered for his dedication to our people and for the values he stood for.”
The group said Michalis Imellos will continue as Acting CEO, with further announcements to be made in due course.
Coca Cola HBC announced on September 15 that Lois was taking a four-month break to undergo treatment for a medical condition.
At that time, the group said its chief financial officer Imellos, will fill in for Lois while he is away.
