News Broadcasts off the air in Greece as Journalists Strike

Journalists in Greece are on a 24 hour walkout, in protest of under-funding of their social security fund; which has come as a result of the austerity measures imposed upon Greece by her bailout creditors.
The journalists’ strike pulled all radio and television news broadcasts off the air from 6 a.m. Tuesday and is expected to last up until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Most news websites were not updating their content, and no newspapers for Wednesday, will be printed.
The country’s main journalist union, ESIEA, has called on the government to pass legislation ensuring that their social security fund will be able to meet the health care and pension requirements for journalists in the country.
