A group of protesters in favor of Catalonian independence forcibly entered the Spanish embassy in Athens on Wednesday morning.
About 15 to 20 members of the anarchist group, Rubicon (Rouvikonas) entered the embassy, at Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, near the Acropolis, and threw leaflets.
The leaflet said “solidarity is the weapon of the people.” Greek police said they had detained 19 people who belong to the group.
In a message posted on the Athens Indymedia website, the group said the raid was in support of the “oppressed people of Catalonia” and against “state violence and repression”.
