Two Turkish Citizens Carrying 1,600 Bullets Arrested at Border

Two Turkish citizens of Kurdish decent were arrested in the Greek-Turkish border at Evros river after they were found carrying around 1,600 bullets.
The pair had set off from Germany and were headed for Turkey. They were arrested while attempting to cross the border.
During a thorough check, Greek Customs officials in the Kastanies border control found the ammunition hidden in their car. The bullets recovered were suitable for many different types of weapons.
The two suspects were arrested on the spot and were immediately led to the Orestiada prefecture District attorney, where they will be charged.
