Greek Court Acquits Driver who Dragged Tied Dog

A Greek man who was filmed driving at speed with his dog tied to his pick-up track pleaded not guilty to animal abuse and was acquitted by a Greek court.
The judge and the prosecutor accepted his plea that the whole incident was an accident.
The dog, the elderly defendant claimed that due to his hearing disorder, he did not realize the dog had slipped off the truck.
The driver said that he would never dream of harming his beloved dog.
Media outlets in Achaia, Peloponnese, where the incident happened, say that the court’s decision overlooked the testimony of the eye-witness who had filmed the whole incident.
The eye-witness had said that he dog’s owner had dismissed his warnings and continued driving at a high speed.
