Greece's Flood Death Toll Rises to 16

Although not entirely unexpected, the discovery of yet another body by the Fire Brigade in western Attica as a result of the flood caused by the Eurydice storm has darkened the country’s mood even more.
According to a tweet by the Greek firemen, the body of a 50-year-old man was discovered in the basement of a house in the Gefyraki area of Nea Peramos, in western Attica. The Fire Brigade is now looking for four missing persons.
This brings the total bodycount from Wednesday’s floods to 16 (11 men, 5 women) so far. Of the 23 injured, 11 people have been already released from Thriasion hospital, while the remaining 12 (5 men, 7 women) are still in need of medical care.
Earlier today, another missing person was located. An elderly man from Paliohori was found in the area unharmed. In his statement he said that he was unable to contact his daughter by phone so that he could ask her to remove him from the missing persons list.
