Greek Politicians, Media Mourn Sudden Death of Greek Journalist Vassilis Beskenis, 43

Journalist Vassilis Beskenis passed away after he suffered a heart failure on Sunday morning. He was 43 and his death is mourned by Greece’s political and mass media world.
Beskenis was working for Skai group and his death came as a shock to many.
President of the Greek Parliament Nikos Voutsis expressed sadness for his death with a statement:
“A young man, a member of the journalistic family, a political editor for many years, who served with ethos and diligence his journalistic career, Vasilis Beskenis left prematurely today. I want to express my sincere condolences to his family.”
New Democracy President Kyriakos Mitsotakis wrote on Twitter: “I have no words to express my sorrow for the sudden death of Vassilis Beskenis.”
“We are overwhelmed. Vassilis Beskenis loved journalism with passion and always had the courage of his opinion. We express sympathy for his family, “PASOK spokesman Pavlos Christidis wrote on Twitter.
Born in 1974, in recent years Beskenis was a political reporter and one of the main commentators on Skai television.
After finishing high school he studied journalism in college, while later he completed a degree in European Civilization at the Open University. In 1993, at the age of 19, he began his journalistic career with the newspaper “Eleftheros Typos” as a reporter.
In 1999, in addition to his job in Eleftheros Typos, he began working for Mega Channel where he served as a political reporter. After that he worked for public broadcaster ERT.
From ERT he moved to Skai television where he worked as a political commentator until his untimely death.
