29 Greeks Lost their Lives in Traffic Accidents Over the Festive Season


According to data published by the Greek police, 29 people died on Greek roads between December 22 and January 7.
The casualties were recorded in 25 different road accidents.
Many more people were seriously injured in 22 other accidents during the same period.
According to the data, there was a slight decrease in fatalities compared to the same period last year when 31 people died.
Data published earlier this year showed Greece has the EU’s highest rate of deaths due to single-vehicle collisions.
The total number of fatal road accidents in 2016 came to 752, resulting in 804 lives lost.
