A Greek adventurer is half-way through his bid to to paddle 260 kilometers (160 miles) around Crete in a kayak.
Manolis Loudaros, a passionate rower, set off from the southern tip of the Peloponnese on Jan. 1 and after crossing the islands of Kythira and Antikythira, reached Gramvousa in the north-western point of Crete.

From there, he began rowing eastwards, making stops only to eat and rest.

Local media say that on Tuesday he was spotted near Viannos, halfway on the southern coast of the Greek island.

He will complete his journey once he reaches Gramvousa again.
It is estimated that upon completion he would have covered approximately 500 nautical miles (800 km) in his kayak.
