Turkish Army Commander says his Forces Can Operate in Aegean and Afrin Simultaneously

The commander of the Turkish armed forces Hulusi Akar said that Turkey can  “conduct military operations in Afrin and the Aegean simultaneously” to secure national interests.

The statement was reported by Turkish media on Friday, with Akar quoted as saying: “We are determined to secure the rights and interests of our country that derive from international law and agreements in all our seas.”

The statement came at a time when the Turkish army is launching attacks in Afrin, Syria, while at the same time military aircraft repeatedly violate Greek airspace.
