Yildirim made the statement to the Turkish press after Greece took the issue to the European Union.
“It is a serious diplomatic matter to bring to the European Union. It has become customary to transfer any issue with Turkey to the EU and to ask for its support,” the Turkish prime minister said.
“However, our relations with the EU will neither improve nor worsen with such actions”, he continued.
At the same time, Yildirim called for the two persons who burned the Turkish flag at a Golden Dawn gathering to be brought to justice.
“The Flag is our honor. We can not accept any assault. We do not take such actions into account. We want the Aegean to be a sea of friendship and such provocations do not benefit,” the Turkish prime minister underlined.
