It was revealed on Thursday that Greek unemployment fell to 20.8 percent in December — a more-than-two-percent decline year-on-year.
ELSTAT, the Greek statistics body, issued new data which showed joblessness had fallen both in annual and quarterly terms.
In December there were just over 989,000 unemployed people in Greece. Unemployment rates for women remained higher than men, at 25.8 percent in December. Men saw an almost three-percent fall to 16.9 percent.
As usual, youth unemployment remains a blight on the Greek economy, with 45 percent of 15-24-year-olds being out of work.
Earlier this month, Eurostat said Greece still had the highest unemployment in the Eurozone, but also saw one of the largest falls in joblessness, from 23.3 percent to 20.9 percent between November 2016 and November 2017.
