Erdogan Slams Greece, EU Again

“The European Union supported Greece during the economic crisis… But when Turkey has problems, they turn their back to us,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
Erdogan spoke to local officials at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, slamming the EU  and deriding Greece. “They gave them (Greece) 400 billion euros. When countries with oil or gas have problems, they, of course, get help at a price,” he said.
“But when Turkey has problems, they turn their back to us. But even so, we say we will make sacrifices and we will make it on our own,” Erdogan said.
“The Turkish nation never expected help from anyone in its history and what it achieved, it did it with the power of its heart,” the Turkish president boasted.
At the same time, Erdogan briefed his audience about Turkey’s military operation in Afrin, Syria. He described the Turkish army operations as “peacekeeping”, expressing the hope that Afrin will surrender to the Turkish forces soon.
“We came a little closer to Afrin. I hope, God willing,, that Afrin will have fallen completely by this evening,” Erdogan said.
