Greek Football Superlague Resumes on Saturday

Greece’s top division football resumes on Saturday after a three-week suspension imposed by the Deputy Ministry of Sports Giorgos Vasileiadis.

The 16 Superleague clubs unanimously accepted the terms of the deputy minister for harsher penalties on clubs for acts of violence or incitement to violence by players, owners or fans.

Superleague games were suspended on March 12 after PAOK owner Ivan Savvidis invaded the pitch with a holstered pistol and moved towards the referee and the rival team.
