Real Madrid TV Seeking Acropolis Film Permit

Spanish sporting giants Real Madrid are coming to Athens for a crucial two-leg basketball clash with Panathinaikos this week, and possibly to do a little filming too.
It is reported that filmmakers from the Spanish club’s official TV channel have applied for permission to shoot at the world-famous Acropolis.
It is not clear if any of the players will be involved, or if it will be a mini-documentary about the Greek capital’s history but it is understood the authorities are considering the request.
Athens will see a large influx of Spanish sports fans who are availing themselves of the chance to not only follow their club but enjoy a few days in one of Europe’s most inviting cities.
Real Madrid will take on Panathinaikos on Tuesday and Thursday this week in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague playoffs.
In May, the city will see more basketball action with four teams, representing four different countries, participating in the pinnacle event of Basketball Champions League’s second season. The games will be played in the 18,000-seater OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall, the regular home court of AEK.
