PAOK Lose Appeal, AEK Take Greek Title (video)

AEK head coach Manolo Jimenez was thrown into the air by his players on Sunday

AEK are Greek champions after PAOK lost an appeal over a points deduction which came after their president stormed onto the pitch with a gun on his belt.
Ivan Savvidis, who was banned on March 29 for three years and fined 100,000 euros following the incident at the end of a game with AEK, was upset that the referee had denied his team a last-minute goal.
PAOK were fined 63,000 euros while the points deduction meant they dropped to second place, above Olympiakos.
With only two games to play, AEK lead with 66 points, followed by PAOK on 58. Olympiakos has 54.
Even before the rejection of the appeal by PAOK, AEK players and staff along with 60,000 fans celebrated on Sunday the first league championship in 24 years.
AEK is still in the running for a double, as on May 12 it will face PAOK in the Greek Cup final that will take place at the Olympic Stadium of Athens.
