Dance, Sing and Celebrate Life at the Annual Matala Beach Festival in Crete, June 22-23-24

It is that time of year again when people from all over join together in celebration of the biggest free summer beach festival in Europe – the Matala Beach Festival 2018!
Concerts on Matala Beach are nothing new. In fact, the 2018 festival is a vehicle to keep the legend of the beach referred to as ‘Hippie Beach’ alive.
In the 1960’s and ’70’s hippies put the small Cretan sea-side village Matala on the map when singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell released her album Blue, which paid tribute to the time she spent living in the caves of Matala Beach high above the water.
Nowadays the festival stands for the same principles – Celebrating peace, freedom and equality.
The nostalgic festival is composed of 13 unique concerts with hundreds of artists participating. People travel from all over Europe to attend the festival, with crowds upwards of 100,000 each year.
The dates for the festival are Friday, June 22, through Sunday, June 24.
