The Greek Coast Guard has evacuated dozens of tourists trapped in a hotel on the island of Alonissos as a forest fire was closing in.
The fire broke out in a wooded area of Gerakina Lakka on Wednesday evening and soon got out of control.
Three Coast Guard vessels approached the beach and evacuated 65 tourists that were staying in the hotel.
Firefighters are still battling the flames, aided by water-dumping airplanes.
Speaking to state-run broadcaster ERT, island mayor Petros Vafinis claimed the fire was arson. He said about 50-60 hectares have been burned so far.
