Right in the heart of Heraklion, the vibrant capital of Crete, a new concept in hospitality is bound to open their doors to a whole new idea in cultural travels, Legacy Gastro Suites. Everything is ready for visitors to enjoy a premium experience made of authentic Greek tastes and a completely unique environment, promises the hotel’s management.

The Gastro Suites

The gastronomic concept is there to be explored in every corner of the five-star hotel. From the check-in moment, enhanced with samples of Greek delicacies and spirits, travelers will be stepping into a world created for the senses. The experience goes on in the exclusive boutique suites, home to a refined food station as one of the protagonists.
Products and ingredients specially chosen from all over Greece allow guests to indulge in the flavors of the country. Cold cuts, aged cheeses, handmade fermented bread, and wood-oven baked pies are among the surprises treasured in these rooms. An in-room wine cellar presents the best labels of Greece to improve the gastro stay.
Legacy encourages the private experience of their in-room full Greek meal, offering an a-la-carte menu to be enjoyed either in the suite private dining room, in the balconies, or enjoy your unique breakfast from the comfort of the bed.

Stays go above and beyond when it comes to dining. Typical dishes of centennial tradition come out of the restaurant wooden oven bringing memories of home-made flavors. Greek food with a Cretan twist is the leading character of My C., the hotel restaurant; a non-stop culinary offer, where dishes combine simple cuisine with premium quality products and cutting-edge presentation.
According to Legacy, food experiences are never complete if the same tastes cannot be enjoyed again. A gastro boutique will allow guests and locals to purchase these unique products from all over Greece to extend the flavor of the stay once back home.

Food & Beverage manager of KARATARAKIS Hotels & Restaurants SA, Ms. Eri. Chaita, explains: “It is a privilege to be chosen as the place to be in Heraklion, we want to treat our guests with the knowledge and the tradition of our most authentic cuisine.” According to Ms. Chaita, Hand-made refreshments, herbal teas, and freshly-baked pies are one side to a concept that also includes the absence of frozen or processed raw materials and the commitment to serve the freshest and tastiest dishes, just as it used to be in our grandma’s kitchen.

The Legacy Concept

The food intention comes hand in hand with a cultural aspect in which tradition and vanguard naturally blend in one space. Legacy suites take inspiration from three of the most prominent characters of the Cretan cultural and historic landscapes.
The art and heritage of the writer Nikos Kazantzakis, the poet Vincenzo Kornaro, and the painter Domenico Theotokopoulos (El Greco), elegantly model the boutique suites of the hotel, inspired in the years of the splendor of the Cretan post-war period. Chandeliers, bookshelves, cozy sofas and characteristic tables are the other ingredients of a new concept in hospitality.
Legacy Gastro Suites is located in Eleftheria Square, in the center of Heraklion.
