Out of Crisis, Back to Tradition: The Story of Nature Blessed Greek Olive Oil

In 2013, after decades in business, Ioanna Damianaki’s liquid-fuel distribution company was struggling through the Greek economic crisis.
Profits were down due to a decrease in fuel consumption and, looking for something different to ensure her children’s future, her gaze fell on an olive tree.
She realized this tree could offer a traditional Greek treasure: olive oil.
Damianaki remembered an olive tree from her childhood village in Macedonia which had provided shade for the dreamy moments of her youth. More recently, olive oil appealed to her love for the earth and for perfection.
So she decided to distill the dream-laden tree and make olive oil, which would mirror the clarity she saw in the faces of her daughter and son.
In the midst of the Greek crisis, Ioanna Damianaki established the Nature Blessed olive oil company with her children, Lemonia and George. Their hard work has been fruitful, and now children and parents around the world can enjoy the golden olive oil whose every drop contains a dream.
Nature Blessed produces one of the best, healthiest extra-virgin olive oils in the world, with multiple awards from international competitions for both its flavor and its health benefits.

The Damianakis family’s efforts did not stop at the production and continuous improvement of their products. It expanded to the pursuit of the ideal package — an elegant, artistic package worthy of the oil it contains, especially for their limited-edition Divine Mount Olympus Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
This is made from olives grown on the northern outskirts of Olympus, “the fruit that only gods used to taste,” as the family likes to say.
Last November, working with farmers who share their values, Nature Blessed introduced an extension of Ioanna’s original vision for the company: Nature Blessed Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
This uncommon oil comes from olive trees situated in the virgin forests of Macedonia, some of them up to 1,500 years old — organically grown Throuba olive trees in Thassos. There, olive tree and olive oil traditions have been passed down from generation to generation. The olive farmers’ respect for nature and the environment led to the sustainability the Damianakis family supports.
Although the family’s goal is “to spread the message of good health through the consumption of our blessed treasure, extra virgin olive oil,” Lemonia doesn’t dwell on the beneficial properties of olive oil or the Mediterranean diet, because “cuisines are not to be talked about, but to be tasted.”
“Therefore, we invite you all to taste what our mother created for us and to feel what we feel every time we taste this olive oil. Taste Macedonia, taste quality, taste your childhood, taste your dreams.”
