Lucky Escape for Walkers as Landslide Blocks Greek City’s Seaside Route

A dangerous landslide has blocked one of the Greek city of Nafplio‘s most beautiful seaside walks.

A rain of earth and boulders crashed down from overhanging outcrops on Friday, closing most of the one-kilometer walk called the Arvanitia by locals.

Although the area is known for occasional landslides, and the municipality has erected signs warning of falling rocks, this is the first time such a large volume of material has fallen.

It was a miracle that there were no injures, as the scenic route is well used by visitors to the former Greek capital as well as local residents.
