Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos has used a speech at a summer university event to refer to theĀ great influence of ancient Greek thought on contemporary science.
He was speaking at the opening of the 4th International Summer University on ‘Greek Language, Culture and Means of Communication – from the literature of Ancient Greece to the present day’, in Ermoupolis, Syros.
During his speech, Pavlopoulos referred to the great influence of ancient Greek thought on contemporary science, analyzing the evolution of epistemology from the Presocratic philosophers to the present day.
In particular, he stressed that one of the most reliable ways to diagnose the course of scientific progress as a process of constantly promoting the method of converting information to knowledge and knowledge into “wisdom” is to follow the conclusions of the corresponding epistemological developments.
