Number of Deaths from East Attica Fires Rises to 88

The death toll from the destructive fires that hit East Attica on Monday has risen to 88, as a 42-year-old woman who was in intensive care died in the early hours on Saturday.
Currently, there are 47 fire victims who are hospitalized, with eight of them being in ICU.
Concerns about finding missing persons
Five days after the deadly fires and there is still confusion about the number of missing persons. The General Secretariat for Civil Protection responsible for the coordination of search operations refers citizens to other agencies.
At the same time, the Fire Department informs citizens that if they want to report missing persons to call its emergency number 199. Also, citizens are advised that if persons who were reported missing return, their families need to report that to the Fire Department.
