West Nile Virus Infects Two More People in Central Macedonia

According to the Athens-Macedonian news agency, on Tuesday two new cases of the West Nile virus were reported in Central Macedonia.
The two patients infected with the disease are reported to be in the hospital for “precautionary reasons,” according to Central Macedonia’s deputy regional governor, Dimitris Hatzivrettas.
Thus far there have been six reported cases in Central Macedonia. The other four patients were discharged with no complications to their health.
These latest two cases brings the total number of West Nile virus infections recorded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) to 22 cases for Greece’s 2018 summer season.
