Greek Tennis Player Tsitsipas Sinks Thiem in Toronto, Advances to 3rd Round

Competing as a Top 30 player for the first time in his career, Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas beat the seventh seed Dominic Thiem 6-3 7-6 in an hour and 21 minutes, according to Tennis World.
This was Tsitsipas’ 27th win of the season and the sixth on the Masters 1000 level.
Against Thiem, the young Greek was on fire, hitting 13 aces and losing only 10 points on serve in total, never facing a break point in the opener, which he won in just 29 minutes.
In the second set Titsipas was even better, not allowing his Austrian opponent to take the lead at any moment.
With Wednesday’s win the Greek tennis player advanced to the third round where he plays against the four-time champion Novak Djokovic “in what should be one of the best matches of the tournament so far,” Tennis World wrote.
