Greek Tennis' Giant-Killer Tsitsipas Beats Path to Rogers Cup Semi-Final

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Greek tennis prodigy Stefanos Tsitsipas is into Saturday’s semi final of the Rogers Cup in Toronto with Friday’s 3-6, 7-6 (11), 6-4 defeat of defending champion Alexander Zverev.
It was a third straight win over a top 10 opponent for the 19-year-old after he earlier beat Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in the third round.
However, Zverev gave an ill-tempered news conference after his defeat in which he branded the quality of play on display as “pathetic”.

Tsitsipas will next face Wimbledon runner-up Kevin Anderson, potentially setting him up for a final appearance which would crown his giant-killing status.
