Allergic Reaction to Antibiotic Kills 5-year-old Girl in Florina

In the village of Variko in Florina, a 5-year-old girl has died following being prescribed an antibiotic by a private doctor to combat a fever.
The little girl reportedly had an allergic reaction to the prescribed antibiotic on Tuesday evening, where she began to vomit and then faint. The girl was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The antibiotic is said to have been prescribed for a fever on Tuesday morning, according to the director of the Bodosakeio hospital.
The autopsy confirmed death was caused by an allergic reaction to the antibiotic, which is one that is regularly prescribed to children in Greece, the report said.
