AEK and PAOK kicked off the new season in Greece with wins against Pas Giannina and Asteras Tripolis respectively.
SuperLeague champions AEK produced a solid performance to comfortably beat PAS 2-0.
Goals either side of half-time from Ezequiel Ponce and Marko Livaja proved enough to seal the three points for Marinos Ouzounidis’ side, who were rarely troubled in defence by their opponents from Ioannina.
PAOK opened their 2018/19 SuperLeague season with a narrow 1-0 home win over Asteras Tripolis at the Toumba on Saturday thanks to a penalty from striker Aleksandar Prijovic.
In the other two games played on Saturday away sides clinched the three points.
Atromitos beat Panetolikos 2-1 at Agrinion and AE Larissa won against Apollon Smirnis 1-0 in Athens.
