American Grand Hyatt Hotel Opens in Athens


The American Giant Hyatt Hotels Corporation opened its new 5-star hotel in the Greek capital, at the building where the Athens Ledra Marriott once used to be, in central Athens, close to the Acropolis.
The management of the new hotel will be held by Kokari Limited, while the globally known Henderson Park and Hines is responsible for the renovation and design of the building.
The hotel will include 309 rooms, 38 of which will be super luxurious suites, with the Presidential Suite, the Royal Suite and the four Grand Executive Suites being ready to welcome their guests.
Tax, Tax increase, Greek economy, Tourism, Overnight Stay TaxIn a press release, the general manager of the hotel notes that Athens has become one of the top destinations in Europe, and the epicenter of the global tourist map, marvelously combining the glory of its cultural past in a city full of tastes, rhythm, modern art and charm.
The building that will be Grand Hyatt’s new hotel, was built in the early 1980s and was under the management of Marriott International until November 2013.
