World champion Katerina Stefanidi won the women’s pole vault competition at the IAAF Diamond League in Zürich on Thursday, adding another gold medal to her rich collection of trophies.
The Zurich medal was Stefanidi’s third Diamond League trophy.
Stefanidi won the women’s pole vault with a new season best of 4.87 meters, which she cleared on her first attempt. She also jumped 4.82 meters on her first attempt.
The Greek athlete also tried 4.92 meters three times with no success. American pole vaulter Sandi Morris came in second place with 4.82 meters, and Russian Anzhelika Sidorova finished in third place, also with 4.82 meters.
