A 57-year-old man was murdered mafia-style in the Neo Psychiko suburb of Athens as he was driving out of his garage on Saturday morning in broad daylight.
The man, who was a pharmacist, was leaving his home and as he was coming out of his driveway, a man approached him, opened the driver’s door and shot him point-blank several times.
According to police, the murder occurred at 9:35 am and the victim was shot seven times. The assailant took off in a red Volkswagen that was waiting nearby. Several witnesses in a coffee shop across the street witnessed the incident.
Police cross-checked the licence plate number of the getaway vehicle, but it is unlikely that it belongs to the assailant.
