Two Turkish Servicemen Arrested for Crossing Greek Border at Evros

Two Turkish military personnel have been arrested in the Evros border for allegedly crossing into Greece illegally on Sunday, an Associated Press report says.
A Greek army spokesman told AP under the condition of anonymity that the two servicemen were arrested but denied Greek media reports that gunfire was exchanged during the incident.
The spokesman said that the case is under investigation. He said it is not clear how the Turkish soldiers entered Greece or what their ranks are. The Greek army is also investigating if others attempted to come into the country.
The Hellenic Army General Staff has not issued an official statement on the incident yet.
Local media say that the incident took place in the Peplo area. Inkomotini.news website says that the Turkish servicemen were armed.
Another report on Inevros.gr says that the Turkish soldiers crossed Evros River on a boat and that they entered Greece from the Feres area. However, none of the reports are confirmed.
