Cyprus President Anastasiades to Visit Athens Next Week

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, will visit Athens on Monday to have talks with the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras ahead of the United Nations General Assembly in New York later this month.

The main topic of the discussions will be the Cyprus problem following the contacts completed by Jane Holl Lute, the UN’s Secretary-General’s envoy with the Greek and Turkish Cypriots as well as the Greek and the Turkish officials.

On top of Anastasiades’ agenda will also be the trilateral meeting of Greece, Egypt and Cyprus that will take place next month in order to co-ordinate actions regarding the issues of energy and co-operation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
