Schools To Remain Closed In Several Parts of Greece as Cyclone Approaches

According to announcements issued by the regional governors of Attica, Rena Dourou, and Peloponnese, Petros Tatoulis, all of Attica’s and Peloponnese’s schools will remain closed on Friday due to the extreme weather conditions that are about to hit the southern part of Greece.
The decision includes both public and private schools.

The local municipalities are expected to make the same decision for pre-schools and kindergartens alike.
In addition to Attica and Peloponnese, the municipalities of the Ionian islands of Kefalonia and Zakynthos decided to keep their schools closed on Friday, while similar decisions are about to be taken by other local authorities in the region.
Greece’s Civil Protection urges the citizens of these areas to be extremely vigilant, as a Mediterranean Cyclone is expected to hit many parts of southern Greece on Friday and Saturday.
