Greek Floods: Missing Person in Evia Found Alive and Well

Greek emergency services have located one of the three people missing persons in the area of Mantoudi, on the island of Evia, following the floods caused by the powerful tropical-type storm that pounded the country over the weekend.
The 27 year-old was spotted on Monday as he was stranded on a rock in the middle of a river, unable to reach the bank due to the torrent.
Emergency crews say he has been transferred to a local hospital for first aid treatment and his life is not in danger.

A search is still ongoing for a middle-aged couple gone missing in the area since Sunday.
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection on Sunday declared several municipalities in mainland Greece to be in a state of emergency after the storm caused widespread damage.
The storm, dubbed Zorbas, swept into the Peloponnese on Saturday morning, bringing winds of 90 kilometers per hour, heavy rain and 8-meter waves.
The storm moved into central Greece and Evia on Sunday.
