The Greek-American celebrity and TV presenter, Maria Menounos, proved once again that she loves Greece and its traditions. With only a month of preparations, Menounos chose to throw her wedding reception in the school yard of Akovo village and the decorations were inspired by the Peloponnese’s nature.
Using more than 1,500 lemons as well as hoops made of lemon trees and jasmine, Memounos’ wedding tables were more of an artwork than a normal wedding table.
Everything was meticulously chosen and the most important element of the reception, food, was inspired by Crete and was made under the supervision and selection of the famous Greek chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos.
Skarmoutsos is a real celebrity in Greece as he was one of the judges of the Greek MasterChef TV show for four years and has hosted many food-related television shows on his own throughout the years.
”This was the best food I have ever had” Menounos said and thanked the famous Greek chef for his efforts and talent.
Menounos was particularly impressed by the traditional tiropita (traditional Greek pasty with feta cheese) — and she uploaded many videos on her social media accounts talking about it!
One of the most impressive elements though was the four-levels wedding cake, decorated with different kinds of berries.
Dimitris Skarmoutsos is famous for his talent in combining the amiable and approachable style with the high demands of the fine dining of the Greek cuisine, so it comes as no surprise that everyone was pleased by his creations for Menounos’ wedding.
