Stunning Rescue Operation Saves Horse from the Open Sea in Greece's Katakolo

A difficult and strange rescue operation took place on Monday in Peloponese’s Elia region.
Everything started 15 days ago, when a local farmer lost his horse, named ”Haido”.
The horse couldn’t be found anywhere as friends and members of his family tried to find it, while an announcement of its loss was published in local newspapers.

Suddenly, behind Katakolo’s mountains near an isolated beach, a local fisherman found a horse swimming in the sea.
The big animal, although it was hungry and tired, looked like it was healthy and strong enough to continue swimming.
The next day, locals with the help of the authorities and the fire brigade started the difficult task of saving the animal.

But soon they realized that it was impossible for the horse to fit into their boat, so they decided to help it swim to the beach.
After superhuman efforts, the animal was safe and sound on the beach, were many people were waiting to see it. Andreas Gatsinos, the owner of the horse, said that he was very pleased his animal was alive and safe and thanked everyone who helped in its rescue.
