A group of demonstrators entered the office of Greece’s Minister of Education Costas Gavroglou on Monday afternoon, following a protest outside the Ministry of Education which attracted approximately 200 high school and university students.

The students entered the Ministry chanting slogans and holding banners, opposing the government’s reforms for the country’s secondary education system. Students claim that the reforms will intensify an already demanding educational curriculum, while, at the same time, limiting broader course offerings.

The students also oppose plans to merge university faculties across the country.
